Most churches are filled with church members rather than Christians who act like Jesus.
That’s the conclusion of authors Bill Easum and Bill Tenny-Brittian of The Effective Church Group. So, to help transform the church into a living, breathing witness to the power of Jesus Christ, they are traveling throughout the nation to present the Radical Discipleship Conference.
State Street UMC will host the conference on Saturday, November 12, from 9:00 until 4:00.
The cost is $75.00 for nonmembers of State Street United Methodist Church
Lunch is included
Easum and Tenny-Brittian write, “Radical discipleship is going beyond the accepted norm. It is allowing every facet of one’s life to be shaped by the Gospel. It is more than attending a membership class, or attending worship, or even being a tither. It is to walk and talk and act like Jesus. Radical discipleship is of such a nature that, if we even come close to it in our daily lives, others will want to know what we have that they don’t have, which opens the door for us to share our faith.”
Members of our church council plan to participate in the conference, and we urge others from the congregation to join us for this potentially life-changing event in our congregation’s history. Please visit the website at radicaldisciplemaking.com to learn more. Please let Jonathan Jonas or Mark Hicks know that you want to attend. We have some money available to make it possible for our congregation to be well represented at this conference.
Please pray about investing one Saturday in the future of our church family!
